If the database is large phpmyadmin will time out, you can try increasing your php and file upload sizes in /et/php.ini else you will need to use ssh to dump the database but if you are just changing the domain and not the server all this is unneccessary, just change the old domain to the new domain (if you have root access) or ask your host to do it.

You are in effect moving the forum to the new domain instead of moving the new domain to the forum.

This is a server configuration issue and should be set at the server level in the php.ini file. However you can override the issue by setting a locale in your config.php file.

You would use something like:

date_default_timezone_set ('America/Los_Angeles');

Really should be set in the php.ini file in this section of code:

Turning display errors off would also eliminate the problem. They aren't errors, simply warnings. They are due to how PHP has changed over the years. Previous to vBulletin 4.2.2, they were suppressed because vBulletin didn't know how to deal with them. You can turn off the display of warnings in 4.2.2 by adding this line of code at the top of your config.php under <?:

define('SKIP_ALL_ERRORS', true);

Thanks! The forum wasn't at the old location long and its not a busy forum at all. So I assume its not that large. I am not really good with database setup or issues.

Basically I am moving the website to a new domain slowly, so I have both websites up and running at the same time until all members and info is transferred at which time I will forward the old domain to the new domain permanently.

I manage the server myself, the new domain is on the same virtual server but its in its own CPanel account.

What is the exact error you are getting when you try to import the database into the test forum via phpmyadmin?
