    [Forum] Forum URL Redirecting Incorrectly

    I am using vB 4.1.8

I am having a problem where the forum URL is redirecting to the wrong address.

    What I did

    1) Under Site Setting > Site Name / URL / Contact Details > I changed Forum Component URL to 'http://forum.tzar.pro' and saved.

    2) I decided that I do not want to change the domain location of the forum so I went back to Forum Component URL and removed the URL back to a blank setting

    3) I noticed that even after saving the URl still remains 'http://forum.tzar.pro/forum.php' even after changing and clearing the cookies.

    4) I hover my mouse over the admincp link 'Forum Home Page' and is it saying the correct link but redirecting to the wrong one.

    5) I checked .htaccess of my main site but did not see any changes there. Where is the .htaccess for vb

    6) I checked the forum.php but I saw no issues

    7) The correct address i need is: http://community.tzar.pro/forum.php

How can I resolve this issue. Why is it redirecting to forum.tzar.pro when I have removed that setting. Please tell me what to do

More than likely something in your .htaccess or if you had vBSEO installed - http://www.vbseo.com/f77/warning-require-47917/ because most will not see the error message but was sorting this for a client, saw this old post and decided to post for anyone in the future who might stumble across this having the same issue.

      you could always try http://www.htaccessredirect.net/

sounds to me like your .htaccess file is incorrect. if you have a .htaccess in the root directory, check it out
