Better to post questions about vBulletin 5 in the vBulletin 5 section. However you can visit the Anti-spam options in the AdminCP under Settings -> Spam Settings.

vBulletin 4.2.5 doesn't have anti-spam beyond Akismet built in as far as I am aware. You would still need to use an addon.
