Yes I know it does not have any effect on the HTML, however, I would have thought that I could have it display in the url as forums/ not forums.php...just like if you hover over a forum or a thread, it displays the FURL. -
.htaccess doesn't have any affect on how the HTML is rendered. It only tells the server how to deal with different scenarios.
To change the URLS in vBulletin you would have to turn on Mod_Rewrite URLS under Settings -> Options -> Friendly URLS.
For the navigation bar, you'll probably have to edit the links under Settings -> Navigation Manager.Leave a comment:

Am I missing something in my htaccess? When I hover over the Forum button it give me the url of mysite.com/forum/php...how to I make it so that it shows mysite.com/forums/

Just noticed two of my forum URL's do not say /forums/forum like the rest. I like the lack of the extra 'forum' in the URL, but which is correkt or does it...-
