Same here. I only get the basic uploader as an option regardless of whether I've changed to the AJAX option or not.
I'm on 4.2.2Last edited by charlesr; Tue 7 Jan '14, 3:33am.http://www.bordersdown.net - 10 years of videogame reviews and chatComment

I've deleted the uploader.swf file and uploaded the empty file. I've also have 'Yes, Ajax Uploaded by Default' set in Message Attachment Options. I can still upload multiple files in both the basic and advanced Asset Manager. If other forum owners are saying this functionality has been removed what am I missing? The only difference there may be is that my forum is running on 4.2.0.Comment

For those that don't have the ability to upload multiple files at once do this...
Go to ACP->Settings->Options and select Message Attachment Options. Set 'Attachments Per Post' to what you want the max to be AND set 'Attachment Upload Inputs' to the number of input boxes you want.
That will give the ability to upload multiple files similar to vB 3.Fedora 15 - Apache/2.2.22 - PHP:5.3.13 (switchable Fast-CGI, CGI, Mod-PHP, SuPHP) - MySQL:5.5.23Comment

The asset manager works (it allows me to add extra files), but I never have never used it - it seems to require you to select files one by one per attachment row added. I normally use the INSERT IMAGE button and am usually presented with "select files" option which allows me to just choose files I need from the normal device interface e.g. windows explorer using shift or ctrl. This does not appear for me any longer and I'm only given the option to insert one at a time. Your suggestion is how mine is already set up, so does not fix for me.Fedora 15 - Apache/2.2.22 - PHP:5.3.13 (switchable Fast-CGI, CGI, Mod-PHP, SuPHP) - MySQL:5.5.23Comment

If you remove the flash uploader, and have the asset manager on, then you have to select an image, click on the + sign to add another upload box, go in there, choose a file, click the + sign again to add another upload box and repeat the exercise, till you get maximum of 10 upload boxes.
Then you need to upload those attachments and repeat the exercise again!
There is no way to upload multiple attachments in one go, like it is there in other paid forum software.
vBulletin 4 has officially been relegated to the status and features of free forum software, which I guess IB thinks, it is..Comment

You're not going to get back the ability to CTRL+Click and upload 5 files at the same time with the AJAX uploader. You can upload 5 files but each one must be chosen individually. Sorry for the confusion.Comment

Is there anyone here who is decent with Flash?
I've been having a go at fixing this but I've never worked with Flash before and I'm stuck. I have got as far as decompiling uploader.swf, locating the offending piece of code, writing a REGEX to sanitise the allowedDomains parameter, recompiling and confirming the exploit itself is fixed.
The problem?
The actual uploading function is broken!
It goes through all the motions selecting the files properly and then fails at the last hurdle when you press the Upload button... basically nothing happens. If there is a Flash guru on here I will be happy to share the Flash source code of my attempt so far on the understanding that if we get it working the fix will be made available to all.

I am trying to add a flash movie to the header.
Can easily add an image, but not object or java - driving me nuts. Have tried various approaches without success....-
