Adding pictures to posts without creating thumbnails

Is there a way to add a picture to a post, without creating a thumbnail (or if not, a way to make the thumbnails bigger?)

I tried setting creating thumbnails to no, etc but no luck.

I also rebuilt the attachments in maintenance.

Settings -> Options -> Message Attachment Options...

You have several choices here. You can make your thumbnails bigger, tell the system to always show the full images inline, or have them listed in a box at the bottom.

On individual posts, if you double-click the image after inserting it via the Insert Image control, you can choose a size as well. This would work for individual images.

I have this working, some what.

With jpg images, it inserts the images as small ones, but once you publish the post/thread it makes them big

However, if you try it with PNG image files, insead of inserting the image, it puts this "" into the post, and then when you publish, it just gives a link with the file name.

Also, I tried double clicking after inserting the image but nothing happens.

Okay, been working on this for over an hour and I am about to pull my hair out lol!

I am attaching pictures of how I have everything as of right now!

However, I have tried changing the settings every way possible and it keeps providing me the same results.

Along with the image attachments, is one showing the small image on the forum (that is what is happening now). Another image, shows a bigger image on the forum. I dont necessary want them real huge, but a decent size to where someone can make out what they look like. Then if they want a BIGGER image to view, they click on the thumbnail.

Hopefully I can get this resolved.

Okay, so it is beginning to work a tad bit better, thankfully!

However, still have a few slight issues.

With PNG files, it is showing the thumbnail as a good size, but once you click on that, to see a BIGGER image, it shows you a much smaller image than the thumbnail?

Also, I am experiencing something weird. Any PNG files that I upload, it is converted them to JPG files and making the BIGGER image a really small one.

Now sure why this is, but can it be stopped?

In Admin CP -> Attachments -> Attachment Manager, make sure the max width and height of PNG files are around the same size as for JPG files. If they are set too small vBulletin will be resizing them to the limit set.

They are the same size. The issue I am facing now, is that all png files are switch to jpg files once you submit the thread/post.

Okay, I am not sure what vbulletin (the software itself) deal is, but it is doing the pictures the way it should be only on a select few.

The rest, it is just giving a picture in the post, but not creating a thumbnail for it.

Okay I am totally clueless at this point, even more.

One of my site administrators just posted their business ad, in one of my forums.

When I looked at it, she has 2 pictures she put in the ad. Both pictures are appearing, and when I click on them, they go into a popup and show the images even bigger (All of which I want!). However, in admincp, it is set to make all pictures as a thumbnail, but not to create a border, but in her case, it did. It has a border with "Attached Thumbnails" above it.

I am beyond clueless, because it should be treating all pictures and picture types the same, and it is like no matter what size you attach or which file type you attach, it does each one differently! lol

Note the thumbnail size option here is not the same thumbnail as created when you upload the image as an attachment.

Okay, so let me ask this question then.

What is the best method in allowing pictures to display inside the post, to where members can put text next to the image if they wish, and when you click on the image, it will pop up a larger picture?

See what I just did, is what I am trying to accomplish. Well, would like the image just a tad bigger, but that is it.
