    everytime a user tries to post and the members are complaing and demand i fix it

    Every time a user enters a quick reply and selects the "Post reply button" the browser asks, "This page is asking you to confirm that you want to leave - data you have entered may not be saved." If the user selects "leave page" the thread will be reloaded with their reply posted. If the user selects "stay on page" they will stay on the same thread. If they remove what they wrote in the quick reply box and select "leave page" it will leave the page without a reply.

    Anyone know how to fix this or disable the stay on page/leave page altogether

    many thanks guys much appreciate your effort

    Does this happen in a default style?

    Are all users affected or just some?

              Have you edited the file and commented out the line correctly? Open clientscript/vbulletin_textedit.js file.
              Find the following code:
              Code:
              YAHOO.util.Event.addListener(window, "beforeunload", this.exit_prompt, this, true);
              Replace with:
              Code:
              //YAHOO.util.Event.addListener(window, "beforeunload", this.exit_prompt, this, true);
              Then clear your browser cache and cookies, and restart the browser.

                  thats fixed it but we should`nt have to do edits to core files after a upgrade to make a forum work right ,you`d expect this sort of thing with a free forum software not a software that cost £170. in fact i use mybb (free software) on another forum and dont have these problems after a upgrade. well I.B wont be getting another pennie off me, my money will goto I.P.B when i upgrade. such a shame when vbulletin used to be the leading forum software

                    i dunno hey, i have been with vb since 2005 on numerous boards, been pretty smooth sailing except for smaller issues like this which will more than likely be fixed in a patch but sometimes it does take a while but i suppose its not easy for them either
