[Forum] rss feed manager is not posting automatically

Hello, the rss feed manager doesn't work automatically

I have to go into each rss feed , Reset Last Checked Time , save, then run scheduled task now.

I have read its dependent on members online I have 100 member online so that can't be it....and it has never worked unless I manually do it.

    I am using Version 4.1.4

In your Admin CP -> Scheduled Task Manager you should see an entry for RSS Poster Robot.

Make sure it is enabled and set to run every 10 minutes. It should look like this:

Check your footer template. Is this code is there? It should be:

        Code:
<!-- Do not remove cronimage or your scheduled tasks will cease to function -->
        	{vb:raw cronimage}
<!-- Do not remove cronimage or your scheduled tasks will cease to function -->

That's fine... Can you give me one of the URL's to one of the feeds you are trying to use?

Do you have any of the search options set for any of the feeds?

In the mean time I'd have to suggest you disable hooks which will disable all mods and see if any of your feeds run as expected.

The settings are all good and the feed is working fine for me. Please do as I suggested above and disable hooks so we can see if it is a mod interfering.

It might be considerably longer. Just because you have it set to every 10 minutes doesn't mean the feed gets updated every 10 minutes. I've seen some newsfeeds go hours (or even days over the weekend) with no updates...

From the link to the google feed you gave me I see the first title is "Most states to seek exception to education law - Wall Street Journal" so you can manually check that feed URL with your browser and wait for the first title to change- then you will know it was updated. Only then can you start the 10 minute clock, and even then best to give it 15 minutes since VB cron jobs are "approximate" times depending on your forum traffic.

                    And you are welcome.

                        It means the fun begins.

Now it means one of your mods is affecting your RSS posting. You can go ahead and re-enable the hooks.

Now in your Admin CP -> Product Manager you will have to disable mods individually until you find the one that is causing the problem. Considering these are RSS feeds it might be pretty time consuming but at least we know now it is a mod.

How many mods do you have? Do you have any that affect RSS feeds- those would be the ones to start with.

That mod stopped working with the new editor in Vb 4.1.4. If you are using vBulletin 4.1.4 or above you should uninstall it. As of now there is no updated version.
