[CMS] how to add a video

I want to put videos in my articles but I only have the mp4 file. The video isn't on youtube or another website. When I try to insert a video I get a message:

    Supported videos include:
Hulu YouTube YouTube Vimeo Dailymotion Metacafe Google facebook

So how do I add a video with only my mp4?

You would need an addon or simply attach it at the end. We don't support embedding videos except from the listed services. There are addons that add your own media players available at www.vbulletin.org.

I don't want to hack anything or modifiy anything. I just wanted to be able to add a video to my article. It seems like a basic thing. I don't need a youtube account. I just want to link to the mp4.

Sorry. It is not a supported feature.

I don't understand on how powerfull this vBulletin is supposed to be, but it can't even link to a simple video.

          But ok...

          Thanks I guess.

What forum software has that ability? Seems like it's always an add-on. Not many people want to host their own videos. Besides, mods are how we've always added features. Everyone wants their favorite mods added to the core.

This isn't a forum software it's a CMS. And almost every CMS I can think of has the ability to make a simple link to a video. It's standard HTML.

Actually it IS a forum software..........with a rinky-dink CMS tacked on to it.

Well, certainly you can "link" to a video and you can use HTML. Where are the videos hosted?

Take your HTML and paste it into an Article. Set the "Automatically interpret linebreaks off" in the article options.

You can't insert your video with the video tool provided though.

It's not hosted any place. I have made a mp4 file that is in a folder on my website.

I know I learning that. I think I'm going to use a different CMS.
