[Forum] "Dynamic Key" for App Login?

I have a developer building an app for our vBulletin site. In the process, the app needs to log in to get the feed set up for searching topics. I am being asked to get/generate a "Dynamic Key" because for the log in idea, they could put the user name and the password fields in, but they have no way to 'actively' do *click* on the login button.
Is there someone that can help me out with finding the way to generate this for our developer?

There is no such thing as a dynamic key. I'm not sure if your developer is going about things in the right way. If its an app (mobile) why not just have them use a standard login?
