Anybody know how to get around this error that caused the upgrade to abort?

INSERT IGNORE INTO cms_widgettype (class, packageid) VALUES ('ActivityStream', )

Was your CMS disabled/uninstalled before running the upgrade script?

Yes. I've just enabled it on one domain with the problem, and tried running the upgrade again, and it still had the same error.

              Hi,

I have this problem again on another forum, even after enabling CMS and Blog before upgrading using publishing suite.

Ticket is back open - there's white text here with the number: 1198033

See Ali's post HERE. That ought to fix it. As with any database queries, make sure you back up your database first.
