[Forum] Error when trying to create a new topic

    Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /forum/newthread.php could not be found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I am getting the above error, whenever I try and create a new thread containing a link. Is it to do with suhosin? I've already had my hosts disable mod_security.

Your site gives me a standard vBulletin no permission screen.

Do you have the same problem with all your addons disabled?

Do you have an .htaccess file on your site? If so what are the contents?

Its not when I create the topic, its when I go to post the newly created topic. Its only started happening today, its really sporadic. I don't have a .ht access file

If it just started today, it would be a good idea to check with your webhost. It looks like they added new rules, or a new security system.

Just to say, it's sorted now.

It appears the adviser I spoke with earlier that claimed to have disabled mod_security hadn't done it properly. Now the new adviser has done it, and its working again. How dangerous is it having a fully disabled mod_security setting?

For vBulletin specificly? If you stay up to date not that dangerous. It has a possablity of catching something if there is no fix for an unknown exploit.

And how many fixes are there for "unknown exploits"?
