[Forum] Video Embed Not Working after 4.1.5 Upgrade

Just upgraded to 4.1.5 PL1 and now the embed video isn't working, instead of showing the embedded video it's just showing the code in the posts.

I have tried re-uploading all the vB files, still no luck.

    Any ideas?

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

That isn't a standard youtube link.

Zack: Click on it and you'll see that it is "a standard youtube link". Works on my 4.1.2 just fine.

Agreed... It is standard... I copy and pasted it from the video back when I first uploaded it. I just looked at youtube directly just now though and see they have changed the links also included in the embed code, so maybe the change knocked the vids off and these older links dont work in the newer code of vbulletin...

Is there a way to have the old urls work properly? I would think backward compatibility would be good to have. It would suck to have to spend a few days re-linking all the urls.

It might work, but its not the standard - the two options on youtube are http://youtu.be/xxxxxxxxxx or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxxxxxxxxx

Seems there is a few ways to use urls with youtube. Seems vbulletin only lets you use ONE TWO of those ways...

You mean two? The /v/ isn't given out to users normally.

Where does youtube actually provide you with that video link on their pages?

As far as I know the /v/ is full screen view which you would never embed anyhow, it's a contradiction, how can you embed full screen?

The two supported formats still work fine.

Sorry, thought the URL you had above the video was the one that didn't work. The "http://youtu.be/xxxxxxxxxx" is what you get when you click "share" on a video. Where does that "/v/" one come from?

Youtu.be is going to be fixed in 4.1.8 - http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBIV-13102

Not sure about /v/XXXX. An Improvement request would need to be submitted. Each different format needs its own code to be parsed.
