Choosing the Postbit as a User Profile Option?

I know a way to do this was discussed in a thread for an older version (see here: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum...an-user-option ) without hacking your forum, but I can't find the template they were referring to, and further research stated that it was replaced with global_start which I can't find either, so I'm assuming that was changed as well. Does anyone know how to do this in vB 4.2.0 without hacking your forum?

    Thanks,

By definition you will be modifying your forum. global_start is a plugin hook, not a template, look there and it will probably work.

Good point. Okay, so I set it up exactly as in the thread I posted: http://prntscr.com/135mho and I set it to Options: Thread Viewing at the very bottom. Next I created this plugin:

http://prntscr.com/135ngc < And yes, I do have the Legacy postbit enabled so I used the second code on the thread.

I tried several times to get it to work in my Profile by editing the option, but nothing happened. Any idea from anyone what I did wrong?

I found a new thread by Wayne Luke with updated code - that was the issue, the code was not updated to the newest code-changes in 3.5 For anyone else who needs help with this, here's where I found my solution: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum/vbulletin-legacy-versions-products/legacy-vbulletin-versions/vbulletin-3-5-how-do-i-questions-and-troubleshooting/173292-how-to-make-the-postbit-a-user-option
