[Forum] startup problems after upgrade from vb386

My end goal is to upgrade to vb5 but my system just got done the conversion from vb386 and when I attempt to start vb4 I get an error indicating an HTTPD 500 Internal Server error and this is what I see in the apache error log:

the really odd part is that the file class_core_ext.php is not in the vb4 distribution in that directory

is this a path configuration problem - what?

I even tried setting this on config.php

$config['Misc']['forumpath'] = '/usr/local/websites/www.sailnet.com/sailnet/vb4'; to no avail

Can you be more specific-

Exactly where are you getting the error? You are trying to upgrade from VB3 to VB4? Is the error in the upgrader or after the upgrade completes? I'm fairly sure you did not install VB3 in a directory called /vb4/ so did you edit the Forum URL in Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Options -> Site Name / URL / Contact Details before you attempted the upgrade?

Joe - the conversion process has completed and I'm trying to start up vb4. Yes - VB3 ---> VB4

on this test server vb3 was installed in directory named forums

vb4 is installed in a directory named vb4

I have a hunch this error is caused by the fact that I did not disable the add-ins prior to the upgrade.

how can I disable the api on startup - I know I've done this before - unless you have a better idea.
