  • [Forum] IE 10 and Carriage Return in Editor 4.2.1

Is this going to be addressed that the enter button doesn't work in the CK Editor for IE10? I have 5% of my daily traffic using this browser already, is the answer going to be, "we don't fix browser related issues?"

It is addressed and the editor works in IE10 now, basically it forces IE10 to work like IE9, but to your users they won't notice anything different.

Strange, because I updated to vb 4.2.1 today, and downloaded IE10 as well today, and it still doesn't work for me.

So the way to fix this is upgrading vb to 4.2.1.?

It is likely you have customized your headinclude template- you will need to revert it (or manually merge in the changes) for it to work. Look at the top of your admincp to see if there is any templates requiring attention.

It is one way of fixing the issue- the official/supported way. Optionally you can manually add the code to your headinclude template in an older 4.x version:

          Code:
          <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=9" />

Thanks Joe. i will try that. I don't believe I have modified our headinclude, but I'll double check.

              Our headinclude includes this line: <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=9" />

So when I globally disable hooks, the carriage return works, but when I disable all products via admincp (by disabling all of them) it doesn't work.

Is the CKeditor part of the Hooks system when you disable hooks globally?

                  No it's not.

This means you have an add on breaking it.

You'll need to disable them one by one until you find the culprit.

You need to do the plugins really. The tick boxes in the plugin manager.
Just disabling the product isn't always enough.

I untick all the boxes under one product, then save. If that doesn't sort it, keep going down the list until you find the culprit.

While I didn't untick all of the boxes, they were all "strike-through"

The only ones I didn't uncheck were the VB CMS and VB Blog

You need to uncheck them all. Strikethrough merely means the product is disabled.

Every single box unchecked, and no change. What could be different from disabling hooks vs unchecking all of the plugins individually?
