[Forum] Login Issue.. wondering if anyone else had experienced this

Ok so i am the proud owner of a VB forum
Today i was doing some testing, logged out of my admin account and into a tester.. did some stuff... logged out..
Then when i tried to log in under my admin account, it said incorrect username or password.
My password has not changed in 7mths lol
Ok so i do the "reset password" .. a new one comes, i copy it, paste it in..

Incorrect.

I do it again. Incorrect.
Luckily i have another admin, he went in and tried to change my password in admincp. He put in a new password... it didnt work.
I did the email reset again, nothing.

My admin account was like the first admin on there.. will it effect things i can do? or do the current admin i have have all the same powers? Im pretty sure they got "yes to all" in the admin permissions. Can i get that account back? Id really like it.... it has.... memories lol

Comments, thoughts, help?

Think if i remember correct your account is blocked in the config.php for updating you need to remove that from the config.php update your account and then activate it again.

ok that makes sense...... new question.... what about if i just tried to log in again with my secondary admin account and now it wont let me in admincp...... any suggestions? lmao

If a second account has the same problem then it could be the cookie path to adjust that upload the tools.php from the do not upload directory and use it. When done delete tools.php because its a hazard for security.

ok so how does this happen?? was it something i have done? cos this really sux and i'd prefer not to go thru this again...

Did you change anything that has to do with cookies or was the path not correct. Its hard to say what happened but solving is first priority atm.

Mine did the same thing. All of a sudden it just locked me out. Incorrect pass and all that. I was able to get it reset to admin and a new password but even with config protection disabled it will not let me do any changes to my #1 admin account.
I'm keeping an eye on this thread to see how it comes out.

so setishock, your #1 admin, can you use it now or no? is it long gone?

It works. I ran the tool.php and got it working then for some odd reason it let me do a password reset using the email. Other than that it's not letting me make any more changes even though the config protection is disabled. It's really annoying. Now that some one else has the same problem maybe VB will look in to it.
I'm running 4.1.2 full suite by the way.

The name is stuck on Admin and the password can't be changed from the user account in the ACP.
