[Forum] Referral link does not work

When I want to register on my forum via a referral link (http://xxx.com/index.php?referrerid=xxx), the name of the user who referred someone does not appear in the register form.

What am I doing wrong?

They need to use the UserID. From that setting's help text::

If you enable the User Referrer system, then a user who visits your forum through a link that contains 'referrerid=XXX' will give referral credit to the owner of the referrerid when they register (where XXX is the userid of the referring user).
