[Forum] How to Show last post info from private forum on forum list ?

Hello,

Could someone help me to show last post info from private forum on forum list, like this :



I would like the last thread from a private (VIP) forum to be displayed, but when the user (registered user or unregistered user) click on it, he can't see the thread because he is not VIP member.

I've found a MOD for this but it's for vbulletin 3.5.4 whereas i'm on 4.2.0 :

If you go into the forum permissions for that forum on that usergroup, and set "can view thread content" to "No", then they will see the last post info but get a permissions error if they click the thread.

That section is:
Admin CP > Usergroups > Forum Permissions

It was already marked as "no" so we only see "Private" (like in the picture)...

Not sure how you have it set up but I can make my test install show the last post title using the above method.

Send a ticket in with admincp details (in the sensitive data field) and I'll happily take a look and see what permissions need to be replicated.

Permissions can be a complex jigsaw puzzle and there's probably a higher permission overriding it somewhere.

Mark, I am having the same problem and I am SURE there is some setting somewhere that is overriding it. I just can't find it!! I have been tinkering for HOURS!

The bottom line is I want any usergroup that is NOT officially registered and moderated to be able to see everything members see on the main forum display (minus the two moderator private forums that I want invisible to all but staff) but not be able to click and go any further within the forum. I will try to figure out how to send a trouble ticket to you.
