Email's are not being sent out

None of my new users can verify their email addresses to get access to my forum. That isn't the only problem though, even the emails I try to manually send out through the admincp never reach their destination. Not sure if this is a vbulletin error or my server. I ran a diagnostic and got this:

    SMTP: localhost
    sendmail_from: None
    sendmail_path: /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i

Did you already check AdminCP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Email in order to see if that is OK?

I did. It said no errors were found and I never received the email I sent it to.

Search if your mail server is on a spam block list: http://www.mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx

Put in your mail server's IP address (it is usually the same as your web server ip address) and check.

If it is on one or more lists it is very possible the mail is getting rejected and never delivered because servers think it is spam.

It's not blacklisted anywhere. I also got with my hosting company and they didn't see any issues as to why it would be a problem on their side. New problem: When I run the diagnose email feature, the email goes through. But when I register a new account, the email never shows up.

Then that means that vbulletin is working fine and passing the email to your server. Your server is having issues. Have you checked your server email logs?

I would also consider setting up SMTP email sending in Email Options if not already setup. Delivery is more reliable than the non-SMTP option because spam killing servers see PHP generated emails as less trusted than SMTP emails.

I have SMTP email set up as well. Tried that as part of my trouble shooting as well as setting -f.

My server says everything looks fine.

Can you temporarily change the SMTP settings to a gmail account to see if the mails come through then? Since we know gmail works...

                      SMTP Host:smtp.gmail.com
                      Port: 587
SMTP Username: your full @gmail address
                      Secure: TLS
