    [Forum] A problem regarding Database Size

    Dear Friends;
    Our Vbulletin software based website have a massive size of database.The server backbone based on 3 Apache 1 Mysql total 4 servers.
    The machine loads are really fine but we have a small problem.
    When we have a huge activity due to size of the data in mysql, we experience delay in response time and also lagging...
    We believe that we need a system like this;

    On our Forum's DB's user table we have about 2.5 million users...
    Only 100.000 of them is active at this point, when a new user logs in the system searchs the user specific data within 2 million users so we believe it leads to delay in response time and so lagging...

    We do not like to prune users!
    Instead of this we like to create a table called as deactive_users...
    So the members who did not login for 5 months will go to this table and their data will be removed from users table...
    If they decide to login after this procedure they will go back to users table from deactive users table...

    We searched such product but can't find anything about this may you help us on this...
    Thanks
    Berk Eratay

    You will need to search/post over at www.vbulletin.org for assistance with that.

    I would advise that you advise that you request server optimization help by starting a thread in the Server Configuration forum supplying the information requested in this thread:

    Note this is not an official service however.
