[CMS] I Need 2 Different Recent Articles Widgets - Instead of 1 - How?

    Hello,

On some CMS sections, I use the "Recent Articles" Widget. It pulls Articles from the entire CMS - which is good. That's how I want it.

    However....

    Problem:

I have 1 section for news - and I want to add a special Recent Articles Widget to it - which pulls Articles only from that 1 section, and not the entire CMS.

    When I go to:

ACP > Widgets > Recent Articles - there is only 1 Recent Articles Widget.

    ---------------------------------

    Question:

How can I duplicate or create a different Recent Articles Widget for that 1 section? I don't want to change the default/current Recent Articles Widget that pulls articles CMS-wide, because I need it for all the other sections.

    Thanks

You can have as many of 1 widget as you want, you just have to name them differently. And then, in the configuration, just select the section that you want to pull from.

      No.

If I edit the name of the Widget, it doesn't create a separate Widget.

      Example:

If I click to Edit "Recent Articles" and then rename it to "Recent News" and save it......

      The "Recent Articles" widget disappears.

Are you creating a new widget or trying to edit an existing? You need to create a new widget, name it, and select" Recent Articles" as the type.

Check vb.org for a custom mod. You will probably have to create a new category

I'm sorry, bszopi (above) was right.
