hello community. i have a fresh install of VBS and am trying to configure the Blog an Forum URLs and am not getting the desired results.
my VBS install is within a single sub-domain at the following URL:
http://community.mysite.com (example). the "community" sub-domain (or vanity url) will not change for any portions of the VBS; it will always be under the "community." sub-domain.
what i'm trying to do
i would like to have separate sub-directories for the Forums, and Blogs so the are accessible from the root url for each, such as:
FORUMS
or
BLOGS
or
my Attempts
i made the appropriate changes to the Forum Component URL and Blog Component URL as such:
FORUM
BLOGS
i also made changes to the .htaccess file as suggested in the manual. the results are showing as:
FORUM
BLOGS
is there a way i can configure VBS so the Forum and Blog URLs are like that of my first example? i am on a shared-hosted Unix server, running the latest PHP version. please let me know if i can supply other info that may be of help.
many thanks in advance for your time and help,
Alan J.
