I am trying to remove the underline from the category links but I can’t see how via the StyleVars and there is no save button in the Main CSS!! I am using VB 4.
How do you remove underline on category links???

Since they are links, there is no setting to do that. This is going to require some custom CSS. Unfortunately I do not have specific instructions for doing that, but you can try asking at the vB mod site: www.vbulletin.orgSteve Machol, former vBulletin Customer Support Manager (and NOT retired!)

I was looking for the same setting for the Tags search results, and found that the bold and underline are hard-coded into the .php files.
For example, I found this in vb/search/criteria.php at line 1048:
$this->display_strings['tag'] = "$vbphrase[tag]: <b><u>" .
$tag->fetch_field('tagtext') . "$syn_text</u></b>";
and changed it to:
$this->display_strings['tag'] = "" .
$tag->fetch_field('tagtext') . "$syn_text";
That gets rid of the word "Tag:" ($vbphrase[tag]) that precedes the tag search term, and also removes the bold and underline.
There's probably a place somewhere that is inserting this into categories too. You might want to search on <u><b> in the files and see what comes up.

Do following steps
1) Disable "underline" for links
Go to Styles & templates -> Style Manager -> Style Vars
find Link Text Decoration and set "None" to "YES", and "NO" for the rest. So it will be like:
None - Yes
Underline - No
Overline - No
Line Through - No
blink - No
Hit Save
Do the same for Link Hover Text Decoration
2) Now add "underline" only for hyperlinks in posts
Go to Styles & templates -> Style Manager -> Edit Templates
find and edit additional.css
add this:
Code:.postcontent a { text-decoration: underline; } .postcontent a:hover { text-decoration: underline; color: orange; }

You can try the additional.css template for that.Steve Machol, former vBulletin Customer Support Manager (and NOT retired!)

Expand the CSS Templates (double click on it) in the Edit Templates window:
If you don't know what the style is named, load Firebug* into Firefox and inspect the page, then search in templates for the style. It's probably in more than one template.
*Firebug is a very valuable add-on to Firefox that will show you how a web page is constructed, including the CSS styles.Comment

.articlecontent a does not work?
Edit:
to easy, .article does work. ;-)Last edited by baerwurz; Mon 17 Oct '11, 11:01pm.Comment
