    [Forum] setting read-only permissions

I'm setting up a 4.1 forum at http://www.morocco-knowledgebase.net that has one section that is intended to be open access with various sub forums, and another section that it intended to be a reference area with various sub forums that only I can update. For example

Open sections forum (not acting as forum, only a header)
    - General forum
    - Trip reports forum

Reference section forum (not acting as forum, only a header)
    - Information sources forum
    - Packing and planning forum

I was rather hoping the subforums would inherit the attributes of the parent forum but this seems not to be the case. I also tried setting 'forum is open' to no, but this shut me out as well even though I'm logged on as administrator.

I could set the attributes through forum permissions but I have 20 or so forums to set and there's 10 lots of users per forum, so that's 200 edits. Wow.

There must be an easier way... please??

Ah... Just found 'permission duplication tools'. So I've now set the permissions for one of the read-only forums and copied them over to the others.

    Panic over.
(Unless that wasn't the right way to do it!)
