There are modifications to let you make the forum sidebar available on other pages than forum home. Do a search on vBulletin.org and you'll find atleas one.
Setting the width of the sidebar can be done with a StyleVar named "forum_sidebar_width".- Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager
- Popup for the skin you wish to change -> StyleVars
- Search for forum_sidebar_width
- Change the value and save.
