    [Forum] Fulltext search

I'm trying to select fulltext search, like is shows in the documentation here: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/search_type

The only option available is vB database search. There is no option for Fulltext search. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Actually the listing is "DB search". That is the only option in the drop down menu under search type.

Change CKEditor Colors to Match Style (for 4.1.4 and above)

Steve I was trying to figure out how to set full text searching as well, so does that mean that the db search option listed under Options>search type does nothing. I selected that while trying to figure out how to set full text searching and rebuilt my indexes.

In other words does selecting that option take me away from full text search?

vBulletin 4 only uses fulltext searching, it means what it means. There is no alterntive search in vB4, compared to vB3 which also had a internal vB search.

Yeah he actually didn't answer my question so I am assuming from what he said that even though I selected db search option that it doesn't do anything and was left in the admin cp as a menu option.

vBulletin 4 only uses fulltext, unless you choose to use sphinx in a dedicated enviroment.
Fulltext search relys on mysql's fulltext.

Maybe because there is no such option in the default vB4.

There is no vb search in the drop down under a standard vBulletin 4.X installation.

In 3.X there was fulltext and an indexed word search or 'vB Search'. In 4.X the 'vB Search' was completely removed.

If you are running vBulletin 4 as posting in this forum implies and you have this in your drop down, then it is from an addon or an incorrect upgrade.

You guys really have a way of answering questions, but Wayne you actually answered the question, thank you.

I just disabled all plugins globally then disabled all of them individually, and I still have the DB search in the search type box on the Admin CP. Version 4.1.3

                              I never upgraded from 3 I started with 4.x.x.x

                              Wonder what the deal is?

Did I goof an upgrade in 4.x somewhere?
