I use the "Manage Ads" feature to display an AdSense unit below the navbar. It works great. However, when trying to add an ad for "First Post Content" it does not work. I even went to "Edit Templates" after creating the new ad and noticed that it is not populating the "ad_thread_first_post_content" template like it does for the "below navbar" template that is working correctly. The other templates seem to be working.

Hello Lisa,
Are you seeing the content in your source, but it isn't being displayed on your web browser? Or, if it doesn't show up at all, then there is a problem,
Try this :
Admin CP => Styles & Templates => Style Manager => Edit Templates => Ad Location Templates => ad_thread_first_post_content
Then, you can manually insert the ad into the first post of every thread on your forum :
Code:<div id="ad_thread_first_post_content"> Your Ad Inserted Here ..................... </div>
Admin CP => Styles & Templates => Style Manager => Edit Templates => Postbit Templates => postbit
Search and find :
Code:<div class="postbody"> {vb:raw template_hook.postbit_messagearea_start} <div class="postrow"> <vb:if condition="$post['title'] OR $show['messageicon']"> <h2 class="posttitle icon"> <vb:if condition="$show['messageicon']"><img src="{vb:raw post.iconpath}" alt="{vb:raw post.icontitle}" /> </vb:if>{vb:raw post.title} </h2> </vb:if>
PHP Code:<vb:if condition="$post['isfirstshown']">
{vb:raw ad_location.ad_showthread_firstpost_start}
{vb:raw ad_location.thread_first_post_content}
</vb:if>

The first option worked (pasted it into the template) but when I tried to TARGET the ad by usergroup, it does not show. It only works when I show to all. I got the code for targeting by editing the ad that is working and modified accordingly. I will check the source to see if it's showing. Thanks.http://www.WebsiteBabble.com

I tried adding the code to the postbit and it still doesn't do anything to make the "Manage Ads" feature work. As I said I can manually ad the code to the ad template but can't get the targeting to work. I really hope this gets fixed because I'd like to use this feature and need to target the first_post_content ads. I am unable to do this with the current configuration. Any help would be great.http://www.WebsiteBabble.com

Oh by the way it isn't showing at all. Not even in the source. Surprised no one else has reported this.http://www.WebsiteBabble.com

I believe this is a bug also, as I can't get a top targeted ad to show since the upgrade from 4.08, to 4.1.0. The rest of the ads show fine.Comment
