[Blog] Which should I use: The blog system or the CMS system ? (to present a blog)

    Greetings!

We are running 4.0.6, and it is GREAT !

    Nice work!

Currently, we have a "stock" setup: CMS, Forums, Blog

Our forums are active and will stay.

We want to merge our CMS and Blog content into one "blog type" area.

Which system should we use? The CMS or the Blog?

(Note, this is for our company to post content, not users.)

    Thanks!

Cause it's confusing to have two areas to do essentially the same thing. Both areas in this are used for the company to push info to the user community. User's can post on the forums but won't be allowed to create articles or blogs.

So if both systems are used for the same thing...what's the breakdown of the advantages or disadvantages of each. Is there a comparison matrix of features, widgets, etc that shows the difference between the two ?

I'd go with the cms, more options on layout and I believe the editor has more options in the cms than blog.
