[Forum] Brand new and already spammed?

I just completed the setup of a brand new forum on a brand new domain and already have 6 new members... It hasn't been promoted, advertised, link to, submitted to the big G or anything... I see members added their signature and posted nothing so I contacted them and got no reply... so I'm guessing spam.

The strangest part of it is that the users don't even show up on the statistics? No logs... Nothing...

    How can this be?

    Somebody???

This isn't stopping, just found 7 new ones... IPs from Russia and Ukraine...

But again, nothing in the stats... As if they didn't even visit the site?

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...

Yeah they sound like Bot registrations, eventually their posts get edited and spam advert crap across your forum.

Always read the post about Security, I know its sad the vBulletin cant just be setup as default to deal with this.

What I have done with my new site is not allow registrations, until I know everything is working as it should.

          Ok... Good idea...

But how come I'm getting this? Where do they have access from? And why are they not showing even in the stats?

As HOPEnSPIRIT sad, they are bot registrations.
They might do nothing for a few days then start posting garbage.
Maybe only their signature is important for them to appear on many sites, they will never post.

                    vBStopForumSpam works great for me.
I could sell you my unused vB4 Suite license, but I'm not so cruel...

I think the OP has a valid point which perhaps a VB rep could explain ? why does a blank forum instantly receive spam, when there arent even any threads ?. which happened to me too

Finally some support LOL... But now seriously, I am not happy about this and find it quite annoying... And without a logical explanation I'm beginning to wonder if these spammers have some sort of access to every vb owner's site details. Not to mention the fact that they are not even showing up in the site statistics... How does that work?
