[CMS] Poll on CMS page .....

Is it possible to allow users who are already logged in to vote on a poll that is on the CMS page using the Default Poll Widget?

Right now I have a poll on my 'front page' but it only displays the poll and Im not able to vote on it, I first have to go to the actual forum post to vote. Id like the users to be able to vote right from the 'front page' or 'cms' page if possible.

I don't believe so... the block only caters to show the results, but redirect the user to the physical thread with poll.

The problem is that its not just a poll, but a thread that has a poll attached to it. Joomla for example, you create just a poll, so you can vote, but cannot comment. This allows you to put the poll anywhere and vote / display results, but you lose the ability to post. If Joomla allowed you to post on polls, then you wouldn't be able to vote on them as a block like you can now. Really its one or the other, and would be quite difficult to strip only the poll values to include for voting in a block.

It is something many of us would like... but right now the way it is configured, I don't see it in the immediate future. Maybe when they have redone the forum architecture they may incorporate the ability for polls to stand alone, without commenting, thus allowing them to be moved around across CMS, Forum and Blog via blocks for voting and showing of results in situ, no comment available on them.

I just created an improvement request in JIRA for this feature:

It would be very appreciated if you could add this functionality. It seems to be wanted by many. By just doing a quick search, I found this thread for example:

There is a module for vbAdvanced CMPS that provides exactly this functionality (not allowing guests to vote, but members, directly on the CMS front page), so it should not be too hard accomplishing the same in a CMS widget.
