[Forum] Database Keeps crashing with MySQL Errors?

My forum keeps crashing (and then resetting) due to recent MySQL crashes which are starting to happen more and more often.

    My forum is http://www.offlinegoldforum.com

I have been receiving this type of error message for a long time. About once a week I get roughly a dozen or so emails all within the same minute.

        Response

        1. Assuming the db info in your config.php file is correct, this is a server issue. Please see this page for the causes of this error:

        http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/cantconnect

        2. The server has maxed out the number of MySQL connections it allows. This is a server-wide limit, not just your forums. Unless you have root access to the server all you can do is ask your host to raise the maximum number of connections they allow.

Here is more info on that error:

        http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/too-many-connections.html

        Best regards,

          Thank you tgcsniper.

I just raised the mysql max_connections from 300 to 500 and will see if that corrects the problem.

Same here. We raised ours up to 550. We'll what tomorrow brings.
