I am getting the same error, nothing happens when I click fbconnect button I get a popup where you can fill in your fb login details, when you fill it it then redirects to another popup which asks for permisions and after you clicks allow it just refreshes the page. Contacted support on this, but they didn't really help. Any ideas? I am running 4.0.4 which I have upgraded from 4.0.3pl1. All hacks and plugins are disabled, running default template.

This only happens in my custom styles.

I have a couple themes installed on my forum & I found that since upgrading to 4.0.4, the FB Connect button does not work in those themes. It instead takes me to the forum's Home Page with a '#' at the end.
In order to connect with FB, I have to switch to the VB Default style, connect with FB, then switch back to my preferred style. And even then, the connection only lasts a few hours before the FB connect button appears again.
What templates do I need to revert in my custom style to fix this?

            1) Make sure you enter the new Application ID in vboptions > Facebook Options

            2) Make sure you revert/update your templates, especially the headinclude and footer template

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

                  2) I am using default template with all hacks disabled.

Reverting the footer template on my custom style seemed to have fixed this issue for me.

I have installed a new fresh installation of vbulletin 4.0.4 and I am still getting the same thing. I am sure my settings are all 100% ok.

Have you looked at your custom Facebook mod / hack that is likely interfering?

This is more than likely causing a conflict with your connect button, as this is not a standard part off VB. Always fault find from a default template with all third party hacks, mods, plugins disabled. Never attempt to fault find with anything non-standard, as its a failure in the making.
