I've downloaded version 4.0.4 again from the members area and the members.php file there still doesn't contain these lines.

      I guess it's just a temporary fix.

I really hope they are going to provide a patch or an updated 4.0.4 package ASAP.

I tried the enable / disable trick the first time and it didn't work. I did it again, but before re-disabling CMS I went into the CMS and member's profile areas on the board first.

That seemed to make it "take".

Hey guys, while waiting for fixes, just use the file member.php in vbb 4.0.3 and replace with the new one, then the problem gone

I've downloaded and checked - lines are ok. You've done something wrong...

I've tried it again today, and this time the lines where ok. So after commenting out those two lines, it worked fine for me

Yay. That worked Trevor. We need a patch soon with this and few other bugs rectified.

I had this problem as well and comment out lines 567 only and the error went away

                            thanks

Do you have CMS disabled? If so, go into AdminCP > Plugins & Products, then Enable the CMS and Disable it again. It fixed the problem for me.
                              thanks

This is ridiculous. 4.0 was a mistake for my forum for sure.
