    every session file the forum is generating in the /tmp folder is 1.3Mb or more in size so is filling the tmp partition extremely quickly

    As far as i know vBulletin shouldn't be making any session files anywher (we store our sessions in the database).

    What are these files named and what is inside of them?

        Here is their reply;
        sessions are always created when someone logs into a site in virtually any php based site

        they are stored in the servers root /var/tmp folder and have reanson session names in the format of sess_*

          We do not use PHP sessions as far as I know. We use cookies and database sessions as trackers.

            Ask your host to set a cron job to clear session files every 24 hours.
