[CMS] Logging in from the CMS doesn't show as logged in...

I know I've seen this problem before, but can't find any threads on it...

I've had a user (previously registered) who tried to log in via the CMS page. It gave the splash "welcome" message and returned him to the CMS where it showed him as not logged in.

He cleared his cookies and his cache, but the same thing happened.

If, after logging in, he clicks on the forums, it shows him as logged in. And if he goes back to the CMS after visiting the forums it shows him as logged in.

The problem only appears to happen if he logs in from the CMS, sees the 'thankyou for logging in' message and then returns to the CMS.

Any ideas with this? It caused enough confusing for him to get in contact with me, so i assume it will cause confusion for other people as well...

I am having the exact same problem. Mine seemed to start when I had Hostgator upgrade Apache from 1.3 to 2.2. Anyone else having this issue, or know of how to get it fixed?
