Editing the forum blocks code?

I would suggest you rebuild your styles via the maintenance and see if that fixes the problem, because it sounds as though some type of conflict is occurring at time of editing. I have edited these blocks in my own styles and had no such issues, so this is something at your end when editing. I would try that first.

Already tried that a couple of times. Just tried again then to be sure, still same issue that my unedited theme is not showing avatars.

I've just had another two people tell that, using the site default (dark - unedited them), one sees avatars, and one does not.

I would look towards running a repair on your styles table, as you possibly have something corrupt within it.

On my PC right now, I see no avatars with the site theme (the dark one I've never altered). Clearing my cache doesn't change that.

If I go to something like hidemyass.com to view via a proxy, and use the link in this thread above (styleid=1) which IS altered, I see avatars again.

If it was my cache that was the issue, wouldn't I still see no avatars regardless of a proxy IP?

This just doesn't make any sense at all...

Agreed. It's baffled me. I have the same problem on my site. I just can't get rid of the damn avatars!

After making changes did you clear your caches? The results of those blocks are cached and they will continue to pull from the cache until rebuilt.

For the record, I don't see any avatars on the link from post #7.

If you still do then post the generated code as I originally asked.

Yes I cleared the cache, I've already said that I did multiple times. Along with going as far as to reboot my PC, check a different browser and all sorts of other tricks.

What "generated code"? You asked for the code I was altering which I supplied, no where do I see you asking for generated cod...

I think this is what Wayne's probably heading towards with the cache not clearing. Not saying its your fault, but the cache obviously isn't clearing either in the tables or your browser. Because it shows up for us viewing it for the first time correctly, with no avatars, then that usually means the table has dropped the cache and it is more browser oriented or other aspect.

Have patience, I am sure staff can sort this out for you.

That's what I was saying yesterday though, it's not just my PC. I've got 3 PC's to test it on here, had hubby test it on his work computer and had friends test their PC's, some of who had never been to the site before. Everyone's seeing something different, including no avatars on a theme that's never been touched.

Long shot mate, but did you try clicking either of these that are under the forum block manager in admin cp?;

[Reload Block Types] [Purge Cache]

Seemed to then show template changes once I'd clicked them.
