[Forum] Facebook Connect Issues (I searched!!!)

I searched and found some people with similar issues but with no resolution. I have my Facebook Connect setup correctly, however I cannot get it to work. Basically, what happens is when I click facebook connect it just refreshes my page with nothing. When I try and link it nothing happens at all. My API and Secret info is setup and the Application is all good on FB's end. I am at a loss at hat to do now.

    Here a twist.

If i goto usercp.pp and click Connect. A popup window pops up with the facebook connect. I type in my credentials and that popup window refreshes with my forum in it, if I click connect, it connects! Once I close that window and refresh the other window with FB connect, it just refreshes the page but not logged into FB.

      Did some more testing.

So the URL setup allows got either http://www.whatever.com or http://whatever.com NOT both.

Even with that now known, I can login with facebook connect everywhere EXCEPT forum.php

Have you looked in the bug tracker to see if your issue is listed there? (I know there is one regarding the birthdate, but haven't heard of one like you are explaining.)

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

What is your domain set to?
What site url are you going to to login to your forums?
Are you using any mod_rewrite code or redirecting users?
Are you making sure you're staying logged into facebook (if you're not, the session will die and keep you logged out)

No mod_rewrite nothing like that. I am logged into facebook. I can login fine here at vB but its so random on my site. Works sometimes doesn't the other times.

Not sure what you mean by domain set to.

my address is http://yorkiechat.net/forum.php for forum. I set everything up as the Facebook Video you guys posted added my API and Secret.

Your forum url in the admincp is http://www.yorkiechat.net/ but you're trying to go to http://yorkiechat.net/ As far as your brownser is concerned these are two different domains. This is why you're having issues.

Reredirect all of your non www traffic to www or direct your www trafic to non www and update the forum url.

I cannot get it to work on either. I am using www.yorkiechat.net in the browser and its hit or miss still.

The problem is not that it doesn't work. The problem is that the connection between vbulletin and facebook is intermittent and sometimes users see their facebook avatar, sometimes they see facebook connect logo. The problem obviously exists on my forum too: www.dzwiek.org
