[Forum] MySQL Version For VB4 Suite?

    Hello,

I have a VPS and have just updated a few things to the latest versions. The VPS now has the latest versions -Apache v2.2.15 and PHP 5.3.2

My VPS also has the option of updating MySQL to the latest version 5.1.45. I am currently running MySQL version 5.0.89.

Please can someone let me know if it is safe to upgrade to 5.1.45 or am I likely to hit problems and possibly have a non functioning forum and CMS?

    Thanks for your help

5.1.45 is running fine as far as we can tell... it was just released recently, so not a whole lot of time under the hood just yet.

Before you do anything, backup your database.
        To be updated...

I agree. I wondered if a newer version would provide better security and speed over an older version.

Thank you for your reply. As I said above, I am interested to know if a newer MySQL version will offer any benefit over a older version.

            We are using MySQL 5.1.45.

I believe MySQL 5.1's multi-core processor support is much better.
