I'd like my "unregistered, not logged in" notice to only appear in the forums. Is there a way to remove it from the CMS?

You can remove the whole notice block from the CMS by putting a condition around the notices code in the navbar template:
HTML Code:<vb:if condition="THIS_SCRIPT != 'vbcms'"> notification code </vb:if>

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

The notices in the header template are near the top. They start with this line:
<vb:if condition="$notifications_total">

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but apparently 4.0.4 changed things. This was working up through 4.0.3, but I had to revert the header and navbar templates when I upgraded, and now I can't immediately see where to modify the code. Is there a way to accomplish this in 4.0.4?Comment

You tried the code in post 2 and the notifications still show up on your CMS page? Can you post your navbar code after the line here:
{vb:raw ad_location.global_below_navbar}
I just tested the code on my 4.1.2 test site and it works fine.

Add to it:
HTML Code:<vb:if condition="$_GET['r'] == '1-xxxxx' OR !$_GET['r']">notices</vb:if>

If the URL is:
www.mysite.com/content.php?1-home
Then you would want:
HTML Code:<vb:if condition="$_GET['r'] == '1-home' OR !$_GET['r']">
