    [Forum] Slave Database

In the config.php file, there are options for a slave database.

We've had some trouble in the past where there was too much activity going on in the one database (tables lock up, crashing the forum) - and I'm trying to figure out how to better optimize the site and increase performance.

We are on a dedicated server - so how would a slave server work? would two databases with mirrored information be serving up the data? Thanks for the help

        Good news

Any details on how to get it set up correctly?

What he said. I don't have much experience with it (only teched briefly on one forum that had it set up) but it works, and quite well too.
