[CMS] Simple lesson in planing a vBulletin-cms?

I'm all new to CMS, and I'm very confused with all the new concepts, words and such...

Is there a "beginning vBulletin CMS"-artikle/blog/... that I can read to understand the differences between "Sections" "Categories" and what to do with them, and why?

For example, I have created a few sections, but only one is showing up directly under "home"-button.
