    [Forum] Why are my CSS changes not showing up?

    Installed vB4.0 and created a new style. I then edited some stylevars and even edited one of the CSS templates directly. But none of the changes are showing up on the page. For some reason it appears the forum isn't pulling the correct CSS file.

    In the new style the forumbits link is:

    Code:
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css.php?styleid=249&amp;langid=1&amp;d=123456789&amp;td=ltr&amp;sheet=forumbits.css" />
    That doesn't seem to work. But if I manually edit it to:

    Code:
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://forums.mysite.com/clientscript/vbulletin_css/style00249/forumbits.css" />
    Now it works. What the heck is going on here?

    Just saw this in the 4.0.1 patch notes:

    [CSS] Store CSS as files does not work
    So CSS changes won't show up at all in 4.0 as long as store CSS as files is turned on? If that is so, is 4.0.1 an improvement? I'm seeing people complain that updating killed their board.

      Actually that is the bug name and should be fixed. Make sure those files are still writable by your webserver so they can be overwritten.

        Are you talking about the vbulletin_css folder? What are the correct permissions? 755?

        This is still broken in 4.0 but was fixed in 4.0.1, is that right?

          It was broken in 4.0.0 and should be fixed in 4.0.1.

          The permissions would need to be a recursive 777...
