    Submit a support ticket to get an official answer.
    while(true){
    if(
    $someone->needsHelp() && $i->canHelp()) $post->help();
    if(
    $i->findBug()) $post->bug();
    }

        I'm going to submit a support ticket but I'm a bit confused as I want to keep my 3.8 board running but sell the 4.0 licence. My 3.8 licence is owned so it shouldn't affect that shopuld it?

        Thanks

          You only have one license, so you can't sell the vb4 bit of it and keep the 3.8 bit.

          Your best bet might be to request a refund of your upgrade fee so it reverts to an old style 3.8 owned license, but then even if they agreed to do it, you won't be able to get any updates once the active period expires - to get those you'd have to buy a vB4 license anyway so you are probably as well to keep it.
