Would like to know whether I'm alone in being less than enthused about the new vB4. I've been playing with it for a while now, and my conclusions are these:
1. The new way of customizing styles/themes seems less friendly than the old way. How is one supposed to know which elements are controlled by which names in the VERY LONG LIST of often cryptically named style elements?
2. vB4 takes up a lot of masthead space with its three separate rows of links and buttons, not to mention the space used by the logo. This stuff can't be consolidated? To my eye, this is clutter. Why not get the "Welcome" line down there with the "New Posts" stuff, perhaps in a single menu? I see no reason to have a separate line for that stuff that few will use on a frequent basis.
3. What happened to the social groups?
4. I've not been impressed with the speed of the new software. It seems that speed deteriorates, too, as one adds more content to the CMS sections.
5. I hate this business about having to add a thread prefix before posting. Hopefully this is configurable.
6. The release needs much better documentation.
