I want to have either promoted blog posts (aka blog posts I select to appear on the home page), all blog posts, or featured, etc appear on the CMS homepage. How can I do this without using a plugin or hack?

You can add a new widget through cms widget manager. The default behavior of the recent blog entries. I f you want a different behavior you can create your own widget. Edwin has made a walkthrough to how to program your own widget.while(true){

Why aren't these seemingly basic widgets already preconfigured for us to use? Anyone have some info that shows exactly which templates to pick in order to make the regular widgets that vBulletin.com uses right now? That would be quite helpful I think.Comment
