Still problematic when it comes to special chars:

    or even more funny:

Well, Google will thank me for that, surely

Wait for the beta 4 build, we should ship a default htaccess.

Any chance of officially supported nginx rewrites too?

The ones I posted a few pages back work just fine (I think) but official ones would be nice

Put a bug report in it. Though I would imagine most people running something like nginx can figure out how to convert the shipped rewrites for their own needs.

Just so I'm understanding this correctly, the .htaccess here is required in order for vB4's search engine friendly URLs to work?

                Yes.

Until vb4 itself provides the .htaccess you need to use this. I have no idea when they will provide their own and I've love some estimate if they could

Sorry I have none of what's mentioned. It was working in beta 3 but not in beta 4.

Yeah I thought beta 4 was supposed to have .htaccess support?

                              Yes it does !
It is located in the "do not upload" part.
It also works in beta-4, I have just tested it.

If you look in the "do not upload" folder there is an .htaccess file. It didn't work for me but you can give it a try.
