so they have done that now and there is still a database error but with out the description

With regards to third party software, we do not have the understanding that the software developer would have regarding troubleshooting their products. We do have the ability to look up errors and do our best to provide next steps, however since we are not developers, we cannot guarantee that we are able to provide the solution to your third party software's errors. After a bit of research, I did notice that a lot of people with similar problems seem to have an older version of vBulletin that is not compatible with higher levels of PHP. I also did note that your PHP version is at 5.6, which is a lower level of PHP, however it is an older version of PHP so there are risks with using it.

We are here to ensure that our servers are working properly, and it does appear that the server is working. We did create a test PHP page on this server which I have linked below to show that the server is up and working, and it is a configuration of the site that is causing problems. We have provided several next steps in this email with the information on how to repair the database, and setting up error logs for your admin page to see what specific errors there are to lead to a resolution, however it is true we don't fully understand the software as we are not trained in vBulletin and do not want to cause any problems on the site further than what you are currently experiencing by providing incorrect information to you.

We do recommend reaching out to a developer who specializes in vBulletin to find the specific cause of this problem, and how to resolve it, but from the research I've done it appears that you might need to upgrade either the vBulletin version you are using or the PHP version you are using, or reconfigure the database connection. Your hosts do not understand how databases and software work, so asking for their advice is pointless.

Your site is returning a database error. We need to know what that error is. There are only two ways to find out:

1. Accessing the server error logs, which your hosts can do. They don't need to fix the error or do anything at all, they just need to tell you what the error is.
or
2. Add your email address to the technical email field in includes/config.php. The error should get emailed to you.

If i add my email addy into the config.php the site just loads a blank white screen with no data base error. The hosting company had done something as i had changed the database password and it was back to my old password

Same table and it is still crashed. Your hosting provider needs to run the MYSQL repair utilities as root from the command line. The query methodology isn't working. This isn't a vBulletin issue. It is a MySQL issue and your hosting provider should resolve this. If they do not, you should find a hosting provider that will.
