Upgrade from 4.0.2 to 4.2.5 Not working

    Hello,

I upgraded the forum only version yesterday.

    Forum runs in http://www.buickperformancegroup.com/forums/

I extracted the files, changed config file, and uploaded the DIR structure to http://www.buickperformancegroup.com/forums/upload.

Ran the upgrade.php script and it tells me all is successful, but the forum does not load and the php file in the root do not appear to be changed.

Should the upload have run from http://www.buickperformancegroup.com/uploads ?

    Thanks

    What's the php version?

Needs to be either 5.6, 7.0 or 7.1 for 4.2.5.

How does the upgrade scripts know where to copy/replace the new files? This might be the issue.

None of the current files in the structure seem to be upgraded.

        Thanks,

The upgrade script doesn't copy any files. You put the files onto the server yourself. Make sure you have uploaded the ENTIRE package - the contents of the /upload folder (but not the /upload folder itself) to the server. You should be overwriting the existing files. Then you run the upgrade script.

Perfect! I overwrote all the files, ran the script (after deleting product-vbblog.xml from includes/xml) and all looks good.

Does this newer version (to me) need to be upgraded to version 5 now?

            Thanks.

Only if you wish to use vBbulletin 5. You can stay with vBulletin 4 if you wish.
