    Creating Test Site question

Switching gears here since last try didn't work. Trying to make this easy.

    URL A on Server A:
I downloaded my entire vBulletin folder structure to my computer. Everything inside public_html on server

    URL B on Server B:
I uploaded the entire vBulletin folder structure from A above to the public_html folder on this server

Shut site off on A, edited URLs in AdminCP, Site Name, URL, Contact details to reflect URL B on Server B. Save, Extracted database using puTTY SSH. Changed settings back to URL A and turned site back on.

I then uploaded the extracted database to Server B. I used the same database name, admin name and password. No changes to config.php since I did this for Server B.

Now, I enter http://www.mysitename/adminfolder/index.php and get to the admin panel log in screen. I enter my admin username and password. I get the redirect screen that says "Thank You for logging in myusername" and then I go right back to the login screen. No errors. It looks like it excepts my credentials but goes right back to login. What am I missing?

You need to edit the URL setting in the database to reflect the test URL.

Hi Mark, I performed these actions below. Is this what you mean or is there another setting I missed? I'm not quite sure what you mean or how to do it.

close your site via AdminCP > Settings > Options > Turn Your vBulletin On and Off
      - update the URLs at AdminCP > Settings > Options > Site Name / URL / Contact Details
***DO NOT CLOSE YOUR BROWSER AFTER THE ABOVE STEP***
      - Backup your database (see below)
      - update the URLs at AdminCP > Settings > Options > Site Name / URL / Contact Details back to your live URLs
      - reopen your site via AdminCP > Settings > Options > Turn Your vBulletin On and Off

Can anyone help me with this? I'd really like a little better explanation than just edit URL setting in database. I know that may seem very easy and straight forward but I'm new to this and trying to learn.
